Bomb Threat Preparedness and Response Training
How Do We Train?
The workshop engages participants to create or validate strategies or plans for bomb threats against their organization. The workshop is fully exportable and best presented at the client site so that existing plans and procedures are readily available to participants.
The half-day Bomb Threat Preparedness and Response Training Workshop is facilitated by a bomb tech with nearly two decades of knowledge, experience, and education. Our facilitator engages participants through an interactive presentation leveraging experience gained throughout his state police career as a certified bomb tech and post-blast investigator. The workshop concludes with facilitated interactive scenarios where participants use knowledge and resources gained from the workshop to address realistic bomb threat situations.
Whether or Not You Have Received Training in the Past, You Might Begin To Evaluate Your Preparedness Level by Asking the Following Questions:
- What are the main priorities for a manager when implementing a bomb threat response plan during an actual incident?
- What special resources are available to assist, how do we reach these people, and how long will it take them to respond?
- When might evacuation be reasonable? Are there safety principles to understand when directing an evacuation? When might evacuation be unreasonable, and what are the alternatives? How do we educate stakeholders to prepare them for our response plans?
- Who is best qualified to search and why? What will they be looking for and what should they do if they find it?
- Should all threats be treated the same way? What are some of the common motivations behind persons presenting threats? Should a suspicious package, person, or vehicle be handled as a bomb threat?
- Do we have any simple tools readily available to guide us in our response to a bomb threat?
